Bitexco Financial Tower

Every major city seems to have a tall tower convincing tourists to part with currency in exchange for weaker gravitational force and perhaps a view of the city. There is usually a handsome fee involved. Often though, a loophole exists at a café or bar situated about as high as the observatory. Cost of admission is one drink. The price of said drink would be quite handsome but hopefully less so than an observatory entry fee. Even if it’s not at least you get a drink and a place to sit and look handsome for your money.

It is for these reasons we found ourselves at Café EON on the 50th floor of the Bitexco Financial Tower. Scanning the menu we quickly realised they are up there with the most handsomely priced non-alcoholic beverages in Vietnam. The quality of said beverages was not at all handsome, as such not worth photographing. It was a pleasant surprise then when we looked at the food menu to find that the cost of snacks to be as much or even less handsome than the drinks thus representing excellent value for money.

The moral of this story then is looking handsome at the top of the Bitexco Financial Tower for the least handsome sum is a piece of fish cake. Or grilled pork. Or spring roll.
