Saigon Rolls

After our recent experience at Fairfield markets, Maggie and I were quite excited to have another go at a popup Vietnamese food vendor but this time at Liverpool markets.

Despite his wife being Vietnamese, the proprietor is an Australian who has never visited Vietnam. He has setup this business in a number of parts of Northern NSW but when you are a stone’s throw from Cabramatta the expectations are much higher.

He certainly knows how to talk himself up but unfortunately the proof is in the eating and apart from the chicken and black mushroom spring rolls the phỡ lacked depth of flavour and the bánh xèo was soggy and bland. More cooking less talking I say!
