Sozo

Sozo is a surprisingly quiet and relaxing cafe located on the otherwise busy and noisy backpacker area. Another surprise is the food. The cream of pumpkin soup was, well, creamy. The (admittedly ugly) shepherd’s pie was good but the cheeseburger and fries was the biggest surprise. I’m not sure if they make their own bread but the burger bun was great (this is coming from someone who rarely raves about white bread) and the toast served with the soup was also very enjoyable. Good execution all round.

They employ the disadvantaged which is good but we’ll certainly be coming back for some of the cakes and cookies. The ones in the glass cabinet looked delectable.

Apologies for the poor photos, however they were taken using a phone since the ‘real’ camera has been out of order and we haven’t gotten around to having it repaired.
